Purpose

•  The USB adapter transmits information between the USB device connected to the USB port and the audio unit.

Function

•  The USB device can be operated using the audio unit.
•  The USB adapter converts the audio signal sent from the USB device from a digital signal to an analog signal and sends it to the audio unit.
•  The USB adapter sends the text data sent from the USB device and playback information such as track number and playback time to the audio unit via a CAN signal.

Operation


Audio signal

1.  When a USB device is connected to the USB port, the auxiliary jack/USB port receives an audio signal from the USB device and sends it to the USB adapter.

2.  When the audio signal is received from the auxiliary jack/USB port, the USB adapter converts the audio signal from a digital signal to an analog signal.

3.  The USB adapter sends the converted audio signal to the audio unit.

4.  The audio unit sends the audio signal received from the USB adapter to the speakers.

Text data

USB memory
1.  When a USB memory is connected to the USB port, the auxiliary jack/USB port receives the text data from the USB memory and sends it to the USB adapter.
2.  When the text data is received from the USB device, the USB adapter creates playback information such as track number and playback time.
3.  The USB adaptor sends text data, such as titles, via a CAN signal to the information display.
4.  The USB adapter sends the created playback information to the information display via a CAN signal.
5.  The audio unit sends playback information received from the USB adaptor to the information display.

iPod
1.  When an iPod is connected to the USB port, the auxiliary jack/USB port receives text data and playback information from the iPod and sends it to the USB adapter.
2.  When the USB adaptor receives the text data and playback information from the iPod, the text data is sent to the information display via a CAN signal, and the playback information is sent to the audio unit.
3.  The audio unit sends playback information received from the USB adaptor to the information display.

Operation signal

1.  When the audio unit operates, the audio unit sends an operation signal to the USB adapter via a CAN signal.

2.  The USB adapter converts the received operation signal to a USB device command.

3.  The USB adapter sends the converted command to the USB device.
