FRONT MAP LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Single Light Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  To prevent scratches, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

Caution

•  When inserting the remover tool in the gap between the front map light and the lens, the remover tool could interfere with the front map light and scratch or damage it. When removing the lens from the front map light, apply protective tape to the front map light.

3.  Insert the remover tool into the service hole at the position shown in the figure.

4.  Move the remover tool in the direction shown in the figure and detach the lens tabs from the front map light.

5.  Pull out the lens tabs from the front map light and remove the lens from the front map light.

6.  Remove the front map light bulb.

Caution

•  The bulb reaches high temperatures when illuminated. If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the bulb will be shortened. When replacing the bulb, hold the metal flange, not the glass.

7.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Dual Light Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) Caution

3.  Press the lens to assure a space for inserting the remover tool.

4.  Insert the remover tool into the gap between the lens and the front map light.

5.  Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull out the lens from the pin.

6.  Remove the lens from the front map light.

7.  Press the spring of the front map light in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and disengage the front map light bulb from the spring.

8.  Remove the front map light bulb.

Caution
