id092200029600

Purpose

•  The LDWS warning alarm warns the user of a possible lane departure.

Function

Beep sound
•  If the instrument cluster receives a warning sound request signal from the vehicle control module (V/C-module) (with mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system)/FSC (without MRCC system), is sounds the LDWS warning alarm using the buzzer in the instrument cluster.
•  The LDWS warning alarm patterns are as shown in the figure.

Rumble strip sound
•  For the LDWS warning alarm on vehicles with the tuner and amp unit, refer to LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS). (See LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS).)

Construction

•  The LDWS warning alarm sounds using the buzzer built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

Beep sound

1.  The instrument cluster receives (1) the warning sound request signal from the vehicle control module (V/C-module) (with MRCC system)/FSC (without MRCC system).

2.  The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the warning sound request signal.

3.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the alarm is established and the alarm sounds (3).

Rumble strip sound

•  For operation with vehicles having tuner and amp unit, refer to LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS). (See LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS).)

Fail-safe

•  If the instrument cluster receives the following CAN signals when the LDWS warning alarm is set at rumble, the LDWS warning alarm is sounded using a beep.
―  Communication error signal with tuner and amplifier unit (TAU) from connectivity master unit (CMU)
―  Warning indication request signal from vehicle control module (V/C-module) (with MRCC system)/FSC (without MRCC system)
