DETECTION CONDITION

• The instrument cluster has detected unregistered key ID number.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• No keys have been registered after replacing the instrument cluster.
• Unregistered key used
• Attempt made to register a ninth key
• Instrument cluster malfunction

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS
• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys.
• Are one or more keys registered?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 3.

VERIFY NUMBER OF REGISTERED KEYS
• Using the WDS or equivalent, perform the PID/data monitor inspection and confirm the number of registered keys.
• Are eight keys registered?
Yes
Using the WDS or equivalent, clear the key ID numbers as necessary, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Using the WDS or equivalent, register the key ID number.
Note
• Two or more keys must be registered to start the engine.
• Using the registered key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Is the DTC displayed again?
- Security light: 15
- WDS or equivalent: B1601/P1260
Yes
Replace the instrument cluster and perform the resetting procedure for the immobilizer system when replacing the instrument cluster.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
