INSPECT FOR FOREIGN OBJECT ON DOOR GLASS
• Is there a foreign object on the door glass?

Yes
|
Remove the object.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT ACRYLIC VISOR BRACKET INSTALLATION
• Is the acrylic visor bracket properly installed?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Reinstall the acrylic visor bracket properly.
|

|
INSPECT IF GLASS RUN CHANNEL INTERFERES WITH DOOR GLASS
• Remove the door trim.
• Does the glass run channel interfere with the door glass?
|
Yes
|
Repair or replace the glass run channel, then go to Step 8.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT LUBRICANT ON DRIVER-SIDE CARRIER PLATE
• Is there lubricant on the driver-side carrier plate?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Apply lubricant (mineral oil).
|

|
INSPECT INSTALLATION OF POWER WINDOW SYSTEM COMPONENTS
• Are the following parts properly installed?

- Door glass
-
- Driver-side power window motor wire
-
- Driver-side power window motor
-
- Driver-side power window regulator frame
-
- Driver-side carrier plate
-
- Driver-side glass run channel

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Reinstall the part properly, then go to Step 8.
|

VERIFY POSITION SENSOR 1, 2 OUTPUT SIGNAL
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
• Inspect the voltage at power window motor terminal A and B (sensor 1, 2 signal).
• Does the voltage alternate between 0 V and approx. 12 V when the door glass is moving up and down in manual mode?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the power window motor, then go to Step 8.
|

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN WIRING HARNESS (BETWEEN POWER WINDOW SWITCH AND POWER WINDOW MOTOR) OR POWER WINDOW SWITCH
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Disconnect the power window switch.
• Is there continuity between the power window switch terminal (sensor 1,2 signal) and ground?

- Driver's side: E and G
-
- Except driver's side: A and E

Yes
|
Repair the wiring harness between the power window switch and power window motor, then go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the power window switch (short to ground in power window switch), then go to the next step.
|

|
REINSPECT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM AFTER REPAIR
• Did malfunction disappear?
|
Yes
|
• Troubleshooting completed.
• Explain repairs to the customer.
|
No
|
Reinspect malfunction symptoms, then repeat from Step 1 if malfunction recurs.
