PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5]

Note
•  For replace the PCM, Setup the M-MDS and perform the PCM configuration. (See PCM CONFIGURATION [MZR 1.8, MZR 2.0, MZR 2.5].)

R.H.D.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Perform the following procedures.

(1)  Remove the front scuff plate (left-side).
(2)  Remove the front side trim (left-side).
(3)  Partially peel back the floor covering.

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  When replacing the PCM on the vehicles, perform the following:

•  PCM parameter reset (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].) (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM].)

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the junction member. (MTX)

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  When replacing the PCM on the vehicles, perform the following:

•  PCM parameter reset (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].) (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [ADVANCED KEYLESS ENTRY AND PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM].)

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

PCM Removal Note

1.  Remove the PCM bracket No.1 nuts.

2.  Disconnect the PCM connector.

3.  Remove the PCM.


Set Bolt Removal Note

1.  Using a chisel and a hammer, cut a groove on the head of the set bolt so that a screwdriver can be inserted.

2.  Loose the set bolt using an impact screwdriver or pliers.

Set Bolt Installation Note

1.  Install a new set bolt and tighten it until the neck of the bolt is cut.
