DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The engine oil pressure is the specification or less for a continuous 8 s or more.
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (other).
• The check engine light does not illuminate.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

• Low engine oil pressure
• High engine oil temperature
• High engine speed condition is continued with the engine oil diluted
• Engine oil pressure sensor malfunction
• PCM malfunction

• Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.

VERIFY OTHER RELATED DTCs
• Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch the ignition ON.
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Has DTC P117A:00 been recorded?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT EFFECT OF VEHICLE USE CONDITION FOR CAUSE OF MALFUNCTION
• Verify how the customer drives the vehicle by asking the customer the following:
• Is the use situation as indicated above?

Yes
|
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal. (Malfunction caused by driving at high engine speed with engine oil diluted)
If there is a concern with customer’s driving, provide the customer some pertinent advice (such as gear selection, how to use manual mode).

No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY THAT THERE IS NO ENGINE OIL LEAKAGE
• Start the engine and verify that there is no engine oil leakage in the hydraulic circuit.
• Is there oil leakage from the oil passage?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location, add genuine motor oil, then go to Step 6.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect the engine oil pressure sensor.
• Is the engine oil pressure sensor normal?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Inspect the engine oil pressure sensor.
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
• Refer to the [MEMORY CLEARING PROCEDURE] and clear the DTC.
• Start the engine and warm it up.
• Drive the vehicle.
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

• Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?
