COOLANT CONTROL VALVE [SKYACTIV-D 2.2]
id0112s6158800
Outline
• The coolant control valve adjusts the coolant control valve opening angle and supplies engine coolant to the appropriate engine coolant passage according to the engine load conditions.
• Further engine warming has been promoted by blocking each water passage while the engine is cool.
Construction
• The coolant control valve is located next to the water pump on the left, front side of the engine.
• Engine coolant flows from 4 engine coolant passages into the coolant control valve. There is one outlet to the water pump.
• Coolant flows constantly in coolant passage 1.
• At coolant passages 2, 3, and 4, coolant flows when the rotor rotates and the rotor opening is aligned to each coolant passage inlet.
• The PCM adjusts the coolant control valve opening angle and switches the engine coolant passage according to changes in the engine coolant temperature. For details, refer to the [ENGINE COOLANT FLOW AMOUNT CONTROL]. (See WATER FLOW CONTROL [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
