Purpose, Outline
• The electronic returnless fuel system suppresses fuel consumption by accurately adjusting the fuel pressure discharged from the fuel pump unit while monitoring the fuel pressure between the fuel pump unit and the high-pressure fuel pump. In addition, fuel evaporation in the fuel tank is reduced by preventing fuel warmed in the engine compartment from returning.

Operation
• Fuel in the fuel tank is discharged by the fuel pump through the fuel filter (low pressure) in the fuel pump unit, filtered by the fuel filter (high pressure), and is distributed to the high-pressure fuel pump side and orifice side. The pressure of the fuel sent to the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled by the flow amount passing through the orifice.
