BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T]

id0140h0217800

Purpose

•  The boost pressure sensor detects the air intake pipe pressure after it passes through the charge air cooler mainly as basic information for boost pressure control and purge control.

Function

•  Detects the air intake pipe pressure after it passes through the charge air cooler and sends an air intake pipe pressure signal to the PCM.

Boost pressure sensor characteristic

Construction

•  The boost pressure sensor is located on the charge air cooler.

•  A piezoresistance has been adopted for the detection part of the boost pressure sensor.
•  When pressure is applied, the thin film bends and the resistance value of the piezoresistance changes. Using this characteristic, voltage according to the strain of the piezoresistance is detected.

•  The boost pressure sensor is integrated with the boost air temperature sensor.

Operation

1.  The boost pressure sensor detects (1) the air intake pipe pressure after it passes through the charge air cooler.

2.  The boost pressure sensor sends (2) the detected air intake pipe pressure after it passes through the charge air cooler to the PCM as an air intake pipe pressure signal.
