Purpose, Function
• The glow indicator light warns the driver that the engine cannot be started by preheating the glow plug or that the wear limit of the glow plug approaches.
Construction
• The glow indicator light is built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
• The glow indicator light illumination conditions are as follows:

― During preheating of glow plug before engine start when cold (during preheating timer operation)
― After ignition is switched ON (turns off after approx. 1 s)
― Glow plug wear limit determined by glow lifetime diagnosis
― When initial manual adaptation recovery is completed by special command
Glow indicator light flashing conditions

― Engine oil data reset is completed using test terminal (flashes five times)
― While initial manual adaptation recovery is performed by special command
― Data reset of glow lifetime diagnosis is completed by special command (flashes five times)
• The PCM sends a glow indicator light illumination request to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.
