FRONT LOWER ARM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Suspension Link Installation Note.)

5.  When replacing the front lower arm, inspect the wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. (See FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT.)

Front Lower Arm Bushing Removal Note

1.  Remove the front lower arm bushing using the SSTs and the press.

2.  Wipe off any dirt of oil on the front lower arm bushing installation area.


Suspension Link Installation Note

1.  When installing the joint sections with a rubber bushings, perform the following procedures.

(1)  Temporarily tighten the bolts with the vehicle lifted up.
(2)  Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.


Front Lower Arm Bushing Installation Note

1.  Apply soapy water to the front lower arm bushing.

2.  Install the front lower arm bushing using the SSTs and the press.

Caution
•  Finish positioning the bushing before the soapy water dries.

Note
•  If soapy water gets in the inner pipe of the front lower arm bushing, always wipe it off using a cloth.

3.  Using a vernier caliper and steel plate, verify that the front lower arm bushing is installed to the position shown in the figure.

Front Lower Arm Ball Joint Installation Note

1.  Install the spacer to the steering knuckle before installing the front lower arm ball joint.

2.  Insert the bolt from the front of the vehicle and tighten the nut to the specified torque.
