Active Bonnet Component Part Disassembly
•
If the component parts of the active bonnet are disassembled, the component parts may not operate correctly upon re-assembly. Never disassemble the component parts of the active bonnet.
Active Bonnet Handling
• Always perform the procedure with at least one other person so that the bonnet does not tilt. If the bonnet is opened after the active bonnet has been deployed, one side of the bonnet may contact the vehicle body such as the front fender panel and cause damage.
Active Bonnet Actuator Handling
• If oil, grease, or water gets on the active bonnet actuator, it may cause the active bonnet actuator to operate incorrectly. Never allow oil, grease, or water to get on the active bonnet actuator.
•
If a screwdriver or foreign object is inserted into the connector area of the active bonnet actuator, the connector could be damaged and the active bonnet actuator may not operate correctly. Never insert foreign objects into the connector area of the active bonnet actuator.
Reuse of Active Bonnet Actuator
• Even though the exterior of the active bonnet actuator appears to have no damage or deformation, it may have an internal malfunction. If an active bonnet actuator that has not been operated is to be reused, verify in advance that it has no malfunctions using the on-board diagnostic function.
Active Bonnet Wiring Harness Repairs
•
If the active bonnet wiring harness undergoes repairs, the active bonnet actuator may not operate correctly. If a malfunction is verified in the active bonnet wiring harness, always replace the wiring harness with a new one.
