WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note

•  When removing the wiper and washer switch, it is necessary to turn the steering wheel. If the ignition is switched off with the driver's door closed, the steering wheel is locked. Perform Steps 1—3 to prevent the steering wheel from being locked.

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

2.  Open the driver's door.

3.  Switch the ignition off.

4.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

5.  Remove the column cover. (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Rotate the steering wheel in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure to the angle where the service hole is visible.

7.  While pressing the wiper and washer switch tab in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull out the wiper and washer switch in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure, and detach the wiper and washer switch tab from the start stop unit.

8.  Remove the wiper and washer switch.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
