Purpose

―  Passenger's side seat belt fastened condition

―  Rear seat belt fastened condition (with rear seat belt warning light)

―  Passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch condition (with passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) system)

―  Seat warmer operation condition (with seat warmer system)

―  Heated steering wheel operation condition (with heated steering wheel system)

Functions

Seat warmer switch function (with seat warmer system)

•  The indicator unit switches the temperature level (number of indicators turned on) in the order of 3, 2, 1, and OFF according to the seat warmer switch operation, and sends the temperature level signal to the seat warmer unit.

•  The indicator unit records the temperature level (number of indicators turned on) when the ignition is switched from ON (engine off or on) to off, and operates at the recorded temperature level (number of indicators turned on) when the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) again.

•  If the battery power supply is disconnected, the temperature level recorded by the indicator unit is eliminated.

Heated steering wheel switch function (with heated steering wheel system)

•  The indicator unit sends a heated steering wheel on/off signal according to the heated steering wheel switch operation.

Operation

Passenger's side seat belt warning light

1.  When the indicator unit receives (1) the passenger's seat belt warning light on request signal from the instrument cluster while the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it turns on (2) the transistor.

2.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the passenger's side seat belt warning light is established and the passenger's side seat belt warning light turns on (3).

Rear seat belt warning light/Rear seat belt indicator light

1.  If a rear seat belt is not fastened within 60 s after the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), the RBCM sends (1) a rear buckle switch on signal to the indicator unit.

2.  When the indicator unit receives (1) a rear buckle switch on signal from the RBCM, it turns the transistor on (2).

3.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the rear seat belt warning light is established and the rear seat belt warning light turns on (3).

4.  If the rear seat belt is fastened, the RBCM sends (4) a rear buckle switch off signal to the indicator unit.

5.  When the indicator unit receives (4) the rear buckle switch off signal from the RBCM, it turns the transistor on(5).

6.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the rear seat belt indicator light is established and the rear seat belt indicator light turns on (6).
