Removal Procedure

1.  Grind the continuous arc welds in the 8 locations in area A shown in the figure using a disc grinder.

Caution

•  If the front side frame flange is damaged when grinding the continuous arc welds in the 8 locations in area A shown in the figure, the integrity of the bumper bracket installation could be compromised. For the 8 locations in area A, look at the grinding locations while performing the work so the front side frame does not get damaged.

2.  Drill the spot welds in the 2 locations in area B shown in the figure.

3.  Drill the spot welds in the 3 locations in area C shown in the figure.

Note

•  If the bumper bracket and suspension mounting bracket, and the outer frame reinforcement are removed at the same time, the removal procedure from area C to E shown in the figure is unnecessary.

4.  Grind the arc-spot weld in the 1 location in area D shown in the figure.

5.  Drill the spot welds in the 4 locations in area E shown in the figure.

6.  Remove the bumper bracket.

7.  Drill the spot welds in the 7 locations in area F shown in the figure.

8.  Using a belt sander, sand the arc-spot weld in the 1 location in area G shown in the figure.

9.  Remove the bumper bracket component.
