• The PCM adjusts the intake shutter valve to the optimum angle during the following controls.

- EGR control: Makes recirculated exhaust gas induction easier by reducing intake air while in the idle range.

- Diesel particulate filter regeneration control: Causes the exhaust gas temperature to increase more easily by reducing intake air while in the diesel particulate filter regeneration range.
