passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator light is illuminated all the time.

DETECTION CONDITION

Malfunction in passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator light circuit (short to ground).

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• SAS control module malfunction
• Short to ground circuit in wiring harness between passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) indicator light and SAS control module

Diagnostic Procedure

• When performing an asterisked (*) troubleshooting inspection, shake the wiring harness and connectors while doing the inspection to discover whether poor contact points are the cause of any intermittent malfunction. If there is a problem, check to make sure connectors, terminals and wiring harness are connected correctly and undamaged.
