DESCRIPTION

MIL is illuminated incorrectly.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• PCM illuminates for a emission-related concern (DTC is stored in PCM)
• Instrument cluster malfunction
Note
• If MIL blinks at a steady rate, a misfire condition could possibly exist.

Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
Retrieve any DTC.
Are there any DTCs displayed?
Yes

DTC is displayed:

• Go to the appropriate DTC test.
No

No DTC is displayed:

• Inspect the instrument cluster operation.
See Section T.

Verify test results.
• If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
• If a malfunction remains, replace the PCM.
