• The function, structure and operation of each part in the intake-air system of the Mazda6 (GG, GY) is essentially carried over from the current 323 (BJ) FS engine models, except for the following:
- A non-AAS type throttle body has been adopted to improved serviceability.
- A hard plastic intake manifold has been adopted to reduce weight.
- The variable air duct (VAD) system has been adopted to improved the engine performance.
- The variable intake-air system (VIS) has been adopted that has the same function as the VICS of current 323 (BJ) FS engine.
