Function

• Opens and closes the shutter valves.

Structure

• The VAD shutter valve actuator is composed of a rod, diaphragm chamber, and spring.

Operation

• Normally, the rod is pushed by the force of the spring, opening the shutter valve. When the intake manifold vacuum is applied to the diaphragm chamber, the rod is pulled, closing the shutter valve.
