DTC B1342	• SAS unit (internal circuit abnormal) (air bag system warning light DTC 12 is displayed.) • SAS unit (DTC 12 detection circuit malfunction) • Deployment prohibited because configuration is not set (air bag system warning light DTC 14 is displayed.)
DETECTION CONDITION	Warning • Detection conditions are for understanding the DTC outline before performing an inspection. Performing an inspection according to only the detection conditions may cause injury due to an operating error, or damage the system. When performing an inspection, always follow the inspection procedure. • SAS unit configuration has not been performed. • Malfunction in the SAS unit internal circuit
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• No SAS unit configuration • SAS unit malfunction


STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	INSPECT SAS UNIT • Using the WDS or equivalent, perform SAS unit configuration. • Is DTC B1342 indicated?	Yes	[Present malfunction diagnosis] When the DTC 12 is displayed • Replace the SAS unit. (See SAS UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) When the DTC 14 is displayed • Re-configure the SAS unit. (See SAS UNIT CONFIGURATION.) [Past malfunction diagnosis] • DTC troubleshooting completed.
