Description

• The system screen is displayed in the LCD even if the system is operated.

• The display in the LCD is unmatched with the system operation.

Possible malfunction

• All or some of the LCD cannot be displayed

― Instrument cluster malfunction (display malfunction)

― Connector connection malfunction

• Vehicle control module output false signal

― False signal input from steering switch/cruise control switch

― Vehicle control module malfunction

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

•  Inspect the LCD using the M-MDS instrument cluster active command modes LCD_SEG.

•  Is the LCD displayed normally?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the instrument cluster.

VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CONNECTOR CONDITION

•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

•  Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.

•  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.

•  Is the connector normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Repair or replace the connector.

INSPECT STEERING SWITCH/CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH

•  Inspect the steering switch/cruise control switch.
(See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH INSPECTION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM].)

•  Is the steering switch/cruise control switch normal?

Yes

Go to the next step.

No

Replace the steering switch/cruise control switch.

INSPECT VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE

•  Inspect the vehicle control module.
(See VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) INSPECTION [MAZDA RADAR CRUISE CONTROL (MRCC) SYSTEM].)

•  Is the vehicle control module normal?

Yes

Symptom troubleshooting is completed.

No

Replace the vehicle control module.
