Purpose, Function

•  The SKYACTIV-D 2.2 has a comparatively low compression temperature because of its low compression. The glow system raises the compression temperature by preheating the inside of the combustion chamber to assure engine startability at low temperatures.
•  The glow plugs are controlled by the glow control module.
