Abnormal message from Vehicle Control Module (V/C-Module)
DETECTION CONDITION
•  Correct data cannot be received from Vehicle Control Module (V/C-Module)
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
•  Illuminates the master warning light.
•  Inhibits the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) and Smart Brake Support (SBS) controls.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Vehicle Control Module (V/C-Module) malfunction

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION
1
PERFORM VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE) DTC INSPECTION
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the Vehicle Control Module (V/C-Module).
•  Are any DTCs detected?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE)].)
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT THE SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
•  Clear the DTCs from the memory.
•  Are the same DTCs present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the Vehicle Control Module (V/C-Module), then go to the next step.

No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT
•  Are any other DTCs output?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
