STEERING SHIFT SWITCH INSPECTION [GW6A-EL]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
2. Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Disconnect the steering shift switch wiring harness connector.

4. Remove the column cover. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
5. Using a precision flathead screwdriver, release the tab.

6. Measure the continuity between steering shift switch wiring harness connector terminals A—B and terminals E—D.
