DESCRIPTION

•  i-stop function is inhibited because an i-stop control system error is detected.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

i-stop component parts malfunction

•  Detects malfunction in i-stop component part (i-stop related module detects DTC)

―  PCM

―  DC-DC converter

―  Current sensor

―  Battery malfunction (deterioration)

―  Generator malfunction (part, system, control malfunction)

―  DSC HU/CM

―  SAS control module

―  TCM (ATX)

•  Power brake unit vacuum sensor malfunction

•  Refrigerant pressure sensor

•  Steering angle sensor malfunction

•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Number of times i-stop function operates exceeds assured operation amount of components

•  Number of times engine restart exceed limit

•  Any of following parts exceeds assured operation amount:

―  Starter relay

―  Starter

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP	INSPECTION	RESULTS	ACTION
1	VERIFY DTC • Retrieve the PCM, DSC HU/CM, SAS control module and TCM DTCs using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) (See DTC INSPECTION.) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC INSPECTION [GW6A-EL].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS [DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)].) (See DTC TABLE.) (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DTC TABLE [GW6A-EL].)
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS BATTERY VOLTAGE DECREASE OR OTHER • Start the engine and warm it up completely. • Idle the engine. • Access the BATT_SOC PID using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) • Is the BATT_SOC PID value above 68 %?	Yes	Go to Step 4.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT BATTERY • Recharge the battery. (See BATTERY RECHARGING [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) • Inspect the battery. (See BATTERY INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the battery. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT GENERATOR • Inspect the generator. (See GENERATOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2 (WITHOUT i-ELOOP)].) (See GENERATOR INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2 (WITH i-ELOOP)].) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.
4		No	Replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
5	Verify the test results. • If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. (See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSTIC INDEX [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) • If a malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform the repair or diagnosis. ― If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed. ― If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
