i-stop WARNING LIGHT (AMBER) FLASHES

DESCRIPTION
•  i-stop function is inhibited because an i-stop control system error is detected.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
i-stop component parts malfunction
•  Detects malfunction in i-stop component part (i-stop related module detects DTC)
―  PCM
―  DC-DC converter
―  Current sensor
―  Battery malfunction (deterioration)
―  Generator malfunction (part, system, control malfunction)
―  DSC HU/CM
―  SAS control module
―  TCM (ATX)
•  Power brake unit vacuum sensor malfunction
•  Refrigerant pressure sensor
•  Steering angle sensor malfunction
•  Instrument cluster malfunction
Number of times i-stop function operates exceeds assured operation amount of components
•  Number of times engine restart exceed limit
•  Any of following parts exceeds assured operation amount:
―  Starter relay
―  Starter

VERIFY DTC
•  Retrieve the PCM, DSC HU/CM, SAS control module and TCM DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE.)
No
Go to the next step.

DETERMINE IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS BATTERY VOLTAGE DECREASE OR OTHER
•  Start the engine and warm it up completely.
•  Idle the engine.
•  Access the BATT_SOC PID using the M-MDS.
•  Is the BATT_SOC PID value above 68 %?
Yes
Go to Step 4.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BATTERY
•  Recharge the battery.
•  Inspect the battery.
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Replace the battery.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT GENERATOR
•  Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.
No
Replace the PCM.

Verify the test results.
•  If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms.
•  If a malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Information and perform the repair or diagnosis.
―  If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed.
―  If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the PCM.
