Note
•  The electric parking brake control module records the vehicle specification information and the electric parking brake operation/release condition.
•  A new electric parking brake control module has not record of the vehicle specification information and the electric parking brake operation/release condition.
•  When the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on) after replacing the electric parking brake control module, the module reads and records the vehicle specification information sent via CAN communication from the instrument cluster.
•  When the electric parking brake is operated/released after replacing the electric parking brake control module, the module checks the related parts and records the electric parking brake operation/release condition.

1.  Perform the following procedures before replacing the electric parking brake control module.

Note
•  If a new electric parking brake control module is ordered, order shock absorbing material and spacers at the same time.
(1)  Peel off the paper backing of the double-sided adhesive tape from the shock absorbing material and spacers.
(2)  Affix the shock absorbing material and spacers in the positions shown in the figure.
Caution
•  If shock absorbing material B overlaps the lower, bottom edges of the electric parking brake control module, it could result in the electric parking brake control module being installed in a condition raised above the brackets. Do not apply shocking absorbing material B with it overlapping the lower, bottom edges of the electric parking brake control module.

6.  Install the bolt.

7.  Install the following parts:

(1)  Rear vent duct No.2 (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(2)  Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
(3)  Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  If the electric parking brake control module is replaced, perform the automatic configuration and related parts check using the following procedure.

(1)  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 30 s or more.
(2)  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK) and wait for 3 s or more.
(3)  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) to allow the electric parking brake control module automatic configuration to be completed.
(4)  Using the M-MDS, perform a DTC inspection and verify that DTCs U2300:54/U2300:55/U2300:56 are not displayed. (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE].)
•  If DTCs U2300:54/U2300:55/U2300:56 are displayed, go to the DTC troubleshooting procedure. (See DTC TABLE [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE].)
(5)  Operate the electric parking brake and perform the related parts check.
(6)  Release the electric parking brake.
(7)  Verify that the brake system warning light and the electric parking brake warning light turn off.
•  If the brake system warning light and the electric parking brake warning light do not turn off, perform a DTC inspection because an electric parking brake malfunction may have occurred. (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE].)
(8)  Operate the electric parking brake again.
(9)  Verify that the brake system warning light turns on and the electric parking brake warning light turns off.
•  If the brake system warning light does not turn on or flashes, or the electric parking brake warning light does not turn off, perform a DTC inspection because an electric parking brake malfunction may have occurred. (See DTC INSPECTION [ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE].)
