POSITION MEMORY SWITCH INSPECTION

Warning

•  Handling a front seat equipped with a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) 3.  Remove the front seat side cover. (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the position memory switch. (See POSITION MEMORY SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Verify that the continuity between the position memory switch terminals is as indicated in the table.

•  If not as indicated in the table, replace the position memory switch. (See POSITION MEMORY SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
