Warning

• Handling a side air bag improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings/cautions in the Workshop Manual before handling the front seat (side air bag integrated). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

Caution

• When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.

Note

• When removing the front seat from the vehicle or putting it back in, it can be performed easier by removing the headrest.

L.H.D.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

2. Disconnect the front tilt motor connector.

3. Apply battery positive voltage to the front tilt motor terminals and inspect the front seat operation.

• If not as specified, replace the front seat cushion frame. (See FRONT SEAT CUSHION FRAME/ADJUSTER UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2. Disconnect the front tilt motor connector.

3. Apply battery positive voltage to the front tilt motor terminals and inspect the front seat operation.
