Purpose/Function

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) OFF indicator light, built into the instrument cluster, informs the driver that Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system has been disabled at driver descretion or system malfunction..

Construction

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) OFF indicator light is equipped in the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light illuminates under the following conditions:
―  When turn off the Smart Brake Support (SBS) and/or Smart City Brake Support (SCBS)by setting function of the multi-information display.
―  Smart Brake Support (SBS) system malfunction.
―  Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) system malfunction.
―  Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) malfunction.

1.  The instrument cluster receives (1) the system conditions display request signal from the radar unit and/or the laser sensor via the CAN signal.

2.  The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the system conditions display request signal.

3.  When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light is established, and the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) OFF indicator light turns on (3).
