DTC P0234:00

Turbocharger overboost condition

DETECTION CONDITION
•  PCM monitors intake boost pressure using the boost sensor. If the difference between target intake boost pressure and actual intake boost pressure is above 30.0 kPa {0.31 kgf/cm2, 4.4 psi}, PCM determines that the VBC system is over boost condition.
Diagnostic support note
•  This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
•  The MIL does not illuminate.
•  Pending code is available if PCM detects the above malfunction condition.
•  The FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Guide blade actuator position sensor malfunction
•  VBC solenoid valve stuck open
•  Guide blade actuator stuck
•  Boost sensor characteristic malfunction
•  Turbocharger malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
