DTC P2452:00	Exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit malfunction
DETECTION CONDITION	• The PCM monitors the pressure by the exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit voltage. If the differential pressure is –5 kPa {–0.05 kgf/cm², –0.7 psi} or more than 5 kPa {0.05 kgf/cm², 0.7 psi}, the PCM determines that there is a exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit malfunction. Diagnostic support note • The MIL does not illuminate. • The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• Exhaust gas pressure sensor connector or terminal malfunction • Exhaust gas pressure sensor malfunction • PCM connector or terminal malfunction • PCM malfunction

Exhaust gas pressure sensor circuit malfunction

DETECTION CONDITION

Diagnostic support note

• The MIL does not illuminate.

• The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Exhaust gas pressure sensor connector or terminal malfunction

• Exhaust gas pressure sensor malfunction

• PCM connector or terminal malfunction

• PCM malfunction

STEP	INSPECTION	ACTION
1	VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED • Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?	Yes	Go to the next step.
No	Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.
2	VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION • Verify related Service Information availability. • Is any related Service Information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information. • If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No	Go to the next step.
3	VERIFY RELATED PENDING CODE OR STORED DTC • Switch the ignition to off, then to the ON position (Engine off). • Verify the related PENDING CODE or stored DTCs. • Are other DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the appropriate DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].)
No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION • Switch the ignition to off. • Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector. • Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 7.
No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR • Inspect the exhaust gas pressure sensor. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR INSPECTION [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor, then go to Step 7. (See EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR/EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE CORRECTION TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION • Switch the ignition to off. • Disconnect the PCM connector. • Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion). • Is there any malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the terminal, then go to the next step.
No	Go to the next step.
7	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2452:00 COMPLETED • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. • Start the engine. • Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?	Yes	Replace the PCM, then go to the next step. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD 2.2].)
No	Go to the next step.
8	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE • Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”. (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [MZR-CD 2.2].) • Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [MZR-CD 2.2].)
No	DTC troubleshooting completed.

Yes

Go to the next step.

Record the FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

• Is any related Service Information available?

Yes

Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information.

• If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

Go to the next step.

• Switch the ignition to off, then to the ON position (Engine off).

• Verify the related PENDING CODE or stored DTCs.

• Are other DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the appropriate DTC inspection.

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION

• Switch the ignition to off.

• Disconnect the exhaust gas pressure sensor connector.

• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).

• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 7.

Go to the next step.

INSPECT EXHAUST GAS PRESSURE SENSOR

• Inspect the exhaust gas pressure sensor.

• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Replace the exhaust gas pressure sensor, then go to Step 7.

Go to the next step.

INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION

• Switch the ignition to off.

• Disconnect the PCM connector.

• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).

• Is there any malfunction?

Yes

Repair or replace the terminal, then go to the next step.

Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P2452:00 COMPLETED

• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.

• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.

• Start the engine.

• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
