DTC P115A:00

Low fuel level - forced limited power

DETECTION CONDITION
•  The PCM monitors the fuel level of the fuel tank using the fuel gauge signal from the instrument cluster. If the total fuel injection amount calculated by the PCM after the fuel amount falls below the E-line exceeds the threshold, the PCM determines that the fuel level is low.
Diagnostic support note
•  The MIL does not illuminate if the PCM detect the above malfunction.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.
•  The DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
Note
•  The vehicle acceleration performance decreases by PCM fail-safe function, when the PCM stores this DTC.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Low fuel level
•  Fuel gauge (in instrument cluster) malfunction
•  Fuel gauge sender unit malfunction
•  PCM malfunction

INSPECT WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS LOW FUEL LEVEL OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Refill the fuel above 9L {2 US gal, 2 lmp gal}.
•  Start and warm up the engine.
•  Retrieve the DTC using the M-MDS.
•  Is the DTC P115A:00 present?
Note
•  If the refueling amount is low, the PCM stored DTC P115A:00 continues.
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If the other DTC or PENDING CODE is stored:
Go to the applicable DTC troubleshooting procedure.
If any DTC is not stored:
The troubleshooting is completed (the cause of this DTC is low fuel level), then go to the Step 6.
5
REINSPECT WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS LOW FUEL LEVEL OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
•  Refill the fuel till fuel level is above 9L {2 US gal, 2 lmp gal}.
