•  The plunger is pulled back to open the air passage between the A and B ports, which applies the atmosphere to the VAD shutter valve actuator.

•  The plunger is returned forward to open the air passage between the B and C ports, and intake manifold vacuum is applied to the VAD shutter valve actuator.
