STARTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

Warning

•  Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.

•  When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with starter terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the following operation.

Note

•  The following procedure “STARTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION” is performed from above the engine compartment.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.  Remove the engine cover.

3.  Remove the coolant reserve tank. (See COOLANT RESERVE TANK REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

4.  Remove the air cleaner, air cleaner bracket, and air hose (charge air cooler to intake shutter valve). (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

5.  Disconnect the intake shutter valve connector, neutral switch connector, and back-up light switch connector.

6.  Set the wiring harness out of the way.

7.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

8.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
