FRONT LOWER ARM INSPECTION

1. Remove the lower arm from the vehicle.

2. Inspect the arm for bending or damage, and the ball joint for excessive looseness.

• If there is any malfunction, replace the lower arm.

3. Install the toruqe wrench to the front lower arm ball joint.

4. Measure the starting torque.

Front lower arm ball joint starting torque

18 N·m {1.8 kgf·m, 13 ft·lbf} max.

5. Rotate the ball joint stud 5 times.

6. Measure the rotational torque.

• If not within the specification, replace the lower arm.

1.2—2.2 N·m {13—22 kgf·cm, 11—19 in·lbf} max.
