DISC PAD (REAR) REPLACEMENT

1.  Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor. (See REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Remove in the order indicated in the table.

3.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

4.  After installation, depress the pedal a few times, rotate the wheel by hand, and verify that the brake does not drag.

Guide Plate, Shim, Disc Pad Installation Note

Warning
•  Never apply grease to the disc plate and disc pad surfaces as it will cause the brakes to become ineffective resulting in an unexpected accident.

1.  Push and turn clockwise the piston fully inward using the SST.

Note
•  Apply a thin layer of grease to the entire area without going outside of the specified area.

2.  Apply the grease, which is in the packaging with the lettering, to the contact area of the guide plate mounting support.

3.  Apply the grease, which is not in the packaging with the lettering, to the contact area of the disc pad guide plate.

4.  Apply the grease, which is in the packaging with the lettering, between the shims.

5.  Install the guide plate to the mounting support.

6.  Install the shim and disc pads.
