AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FS5A-EL]

Warning

• A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before changing the ATF.

1. Remove the oil dipstick.

2. Remove the aerodynamic under cover NO.2. (See AERODYNAMIC UNDER COVER NO.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3. Remove the oil drain plug and washer.

4. Drain the ATF into a container.

5. Install a new washer and drain plug.

Tightening torque

29.4—41.2 N·m {3.0—4.2 kgf·m, 22—30 ft·lbf}

6. Add the specified ATF until ATF level reaches lower notch of dipstick type of ATF through the oil filler tube.

Draining ATF from drain plug: 3.0 L {3.2 US qt, 2.6 lmp qt}

Overhauling transaxle: 5.0 L {5.3 US qt, 4.4 lmp qt}

7. Adjust the ATF amount to within the specified range according to the ATF inspection procedure. (SeeAUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) INSPECTION [FS5A-EL].)
