POSSIBLE CAUSE				•  Transponder (key) malfunction •  If any of the following items are touching or near key head, signal communication between key and vehicle is negatively affected, resulting in engine not starting ―  Spare keys ac9uuw00001496 ―  Keys for other vehicles equipped with an immobilizer system ―  Any metallic object ―  Any electronic device, or any credit or other card with magnetic strips •  Coil antenna installation malfunction •  Coil antenna malfunction •  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY COIL ANTENNA CORRECTLY INSTALLED •  Verify the installation condition of the coil antenna. •  Is the coil antenna correctly installed? (Is it not completely installed?)	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Install the coil antenna correctly, then go to the next step. (See COIL ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].)
2	VERIFY WHETHER KEY IS VALID OR NOT •  Using another programmed key, switch the ignition to ON. •  If there is not another programmed key, program an additional key and switch the ignition to ON using the programmed key. (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].) •  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Verify DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Are DTCs output again? ―  Instrument cluster: B10D7:81 ―  PCM:P1260:00	Yes	Replace the coil antenna, then go to the next step. (See COIL ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].)
		No	Dispose of the malfunctioning key. Program a new key if necessary. (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].) Go to Step 4.
3	INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER •  Using another programmed key, switch the ignition to ON. •  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Verify DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Are DTCs output again? ―  Instrument cluster: B10D7:81 ―  PCM:P1260:00	Yes	Replace the instrument cluster and program the immobilizer system-related parts. (See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) (See IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING [KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM].) Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 5.
4	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR •  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Verify DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM)].) •  Are DTCs output again? ―  Instrument cluster: B10D7:81 ―  PCM:P1260:00	Yes	Inspect DTC P1260:00. (See DTC P1260:00 [L8, LF, L5].) (See DTC P1260:00 [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)
		No	Go to the next step.
5	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT •  Verify if other DTCs are displayed. •  Are any other DTCs output?	Yes	Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
