Malfunction Location

•  Turn switch circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Short to ground detected in turn switch LH or RH circuit with the turn switch off

Possible Causes


Vehicles With Light Switch On Left Side

•  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between turn switch connector terminal G and BCM connector terminal 3H
•  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between turn switch connector terminal E and BCM connector terminal 3E
•  Turn switch malfunction
•  BCM malfunction


Vehicles With Light Switch On Right Side

•  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between turn switch connector terminal G and BCM connector terminal 3H
•  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between turn switch connector terminal I and BCM connector terminal 3E
•  Turn switch malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the turn switch off.
•  Is DTC B1D36:11 displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

INSPECT TURN SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the turn switch connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 6.

INSPECT TURN SWITCH
•  Inspect the turn switch.
•  Is the turn switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the turn switch.
After replacement, go to Step 6.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 6.

INSPECT TURN SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND
Vehicles with light switch on left side
•  Inspect for continuity between the following connector terminals and the body ground.
―  Turn switch connector terminal G—body ground
―  Turn switch connector terminal E—body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Vehicles with light switch on rigth side
•  Inspect for continuity between the following connector terminals and the body ground.
―  Turn switch connector terminal G—body ground
―  Turn switch connector terminal I—body ground
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair/replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness.
After repair procedure, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY DTC
•  Reconnect the disconnected connectors and the negative battery cable.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition to ON.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the turn switch off.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are there other DTCs output?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
