Malfunction Location

•  Headlight high beam circuit malfunction

Detection Condition

•  Short to power supply detected in headlight high beam circuit with the light switch off

Possible Causes

•  Short circuit to power supply in wiring harness between headlight high relay terminal D and BCM connector terminal 1I
•  Short circuit to power supply in wiring harness between headlight high LH connector terminal 2C and BCM connector terminal 1I
•  Short circuit to power supply in wiring harness between headlight high RH connector terminal 2C and BCM connector terminal 1I
•  Short circuit to ground in wiring harness between headlight high relay terminal E and light switch connector terminal H
•  Headlight high relay malfunction
•  Headlight high RH malfunction
•  Headlight high LH malfunction
•  Light switch malfunction
•  BCM malfunction

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the light switch off.
•  Is DTC B1007:12 displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT HIGH RELAY
•  Switch the ignition to off.
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the headlight high relay.
•  Inspect the headlight high relay.
•  Is the headlight high relay normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the headlight high relay.
After replacement, go to Step 10.

INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the light switch connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 10.

INSPECT LIGHT SWITCH
•  Inspect the light switch.
•  Is the light switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the light switch.
After replacement, go to Step 10.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT HIGH BEAM SWITCH CIRCUIT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND
•  Inspect for continuity between light switch connector terminal H and body ground.
•  Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair/replace the wiring harness.
After repair procedure, go to Step 10.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT BCM CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the BCM connector.
•  Inspect the connector and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the connector or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 10.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT HIGH BEAM CIRCUIT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Measure the voltage at BCM connector terminal 1I.
•  Can the voltage be measured?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 10.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT HIGH CONNECTOR CONDITION
•  Disconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Disconnect the headlight high RH connector.
•  Disconnect the headlight high LH connector.
•  Inspect the connectors and terminals (corrosion, damage, pin disconnection).
•  Are the connectors normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair/replace the malfunctioning vehicle connectors or terminal.
After repair procedure, go to Step 10.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT HIGH BEAM CIRCUIT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY
•  Reconnect the negative battery cable.
•  Inspect the wiring harness between the following connector terminals.
―  Headlight high LH connector terminal 2C—BCM connector terminal 1I
―  Headlight high RH connector terminal 2C—BCM connector terminal 1I
•  Is the wiring harness normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the malfunctioning vehicle wiring harness.
After replacement, go to the next step.
10
VERIFY DTC
•  Reconnect the disconnected connectors and the negative battery cable.
•  Clear DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Perform the BCM DTC inspection using the M-MDS with the light switch off.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction recurs, replace the BCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Are there other DTCs output?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
