2-3 SHIFT VALVE OPERATION

BUE051721100A48

• In D range with the shift solenoid B ON, line pressure (14) is drained by the shift solenoid B. Consequently, spring force and line pressure (7) push the valve to the right, moving the valve to 2GR position. With the valve in 2GR position, line pressure path (3) is closed and line pressure (13) is drained.

• In 2 and 1 ranges, line pressure (16) from the 3-4 shift valve is transmitted to (28) to apply the coasting clutch.

• When vehicle speed becomes high, the PCM turns OFF the shift solenoid B. As a result, line pressure (14) becomes equal to line pressure (1) and surpasses the combination of spring force and line pressure (7). This forces the valve to move to the left, shifting to 3GR. With the valve in 3GR position, line pressure (3) is transmitted to (13), applying the 3-4 clutch with a slow pressure increase by the bypass valve and 2-3 accumulator operation.
