INSPECT 4WD LOCK SYSTEM FOR POWER SUPPLY
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Disconnect the 4WD lock switch connector.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Measure the voltage at terminal B of the 4WD lock switch vehicle-side connector.
•  Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

INSPECT 4WD LOCK SWITCH
•  Inspect the 4WD lock switch.
•  Is the 4WD lock switch normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the 4WD lock switch.

INSPECT 4WD RELAY COIL SIDE POWER SUPPLY WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Connect the 4WD lock switch.
•  Disconnect the 4WD relay connector.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Set the 4WD lock switch ON (LOCK).
•  Measure the voltage at terminal A of the 4WD relay vehicle-side connector.
•  Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between 4WD lock switch terminal A and 4WD relay terminal A.

INSPECT 4WD RELAY COIL SIDE GROUND WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
•  Measure the resistance between terminal B of the 4WD relay vehicle-side connector and body ground.
•  Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunction.

INSPECT 4WD RELAY SWITCH SIDE GROUND WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Measure the voltage between terminal D of the 4WD relay vehicle-side connector and body ground.
•  Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the wiring harness between CJB terminal B and 4WD relay terminal D.

INSPECT 4WD RELAY
•  Inspect the 4WD relay.
•  Is the 4WD relay normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the 4WD relay.

INSPECT 4WD LOCK SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Disconnect the 4WD lock solenoid connector.
•  Measure the resistance between terminal C of the 4WD relay vehicle-side connector and terminal B of the 4WD lock solenoid vehicle-side wiring harness.
•  Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunction.

INSPECT 4WD LOCK SOLENOID GROUND WIRING HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
•  Measure the resistance between terminal A of the 4WD lock solenoid vehicle-side connector and ground.
•  Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace any malfunctioning.

INSPECT CONNECTORS FOR CONNECTION
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Inspect the pin connection of the following connectors.
―  4WD lock switch
―  4WD relay
―  4WD lock solenoid
•  Is there any poor connection or corrosion?
Yes
Repair or replace any malfunction.
No
Replace the RBC unit.
