POWER BRAKE UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1.  Remove the snap pin and washer.

2.  Remove the brake pedal bracket nuts.

3.  Disconnect the power brake unit push rod from the brake pedal.

4.  Disconnect the cruise actuator. (AJ (3.0 L Duratec) with cruise control system) (See CRUISE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

5.  Disconnect the two connectors attached to the intake manifold. (AJ (3.0L Duratec))

6.  Disconnect the connectors remaining on the intake manifold from the retaining clips. (AJ (3.0L Duratec))

Caution

•  If the clips are pulled out from the intake manifold, the clips will be damaged and cannot be reused.

7.  Disconnect the brake pipe, plug the outlet of the brake pipe and the master cylinder, then remove the master cylinder.

8.  Remove the power brake unit.

(1)  Disconnect the vacuum hose.

(2)  Remove the power brake unit.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
