AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE[GF4AX-EL]

Caution

•  After repairing a malfunction, perform this procedure to verify that the malfunction has been corrected.

•  When this procedure is carried out, be sure to drive the vehicle at lawful speed and pay attention to the other vehicles.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initial screen of the M-MDS.

1.  Select the “Toolbox” tab.

2.  Select “SelfTest”.

3.  Select “Modules”.

4.  Select “PCM”.

5.  Select “Retrieve CMDTCs”.

1.  Select “Module Tests”.

2.  Select “PCM”.

3.  Select “SelfTest”.

4.  Select “Retrieve CMDTCs”.

3.  Verify the DTC according to the directions on the M-MDS screen.

4.  Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear the DTC.

5.  Verify that no DTCs are displayed.

6.  Perform the following trouble code inspections to ensure that the DTC has been resolved:

•  For P0500

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Warm up the engine coolant temperature 60 °C {140 °F} or more.

iii.  Drive the vehicle under following conditions for 5.2 s or more.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 1,050 rpm or more

―  Selector lever position: D range

iv.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

v.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

vi.  Repeat from step i to step iii again.

vii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0705

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in the each range/position (P, R, N, D, 2 and 1) under following condition for 100 s or more.

―  Engine speed (RPM PID): 530 rpm or more

iii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0706

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in the each range/position (P, R, N, D, 2 and 1) under following condition for 100 s or more.

―  Engine speed (RPM PID): 530 rpm or more

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 20 km/h {12 mph} or more

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0711

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in D range, at 25 km/h {16 mph} or more for 150 s or more.

iii.  Drive the vehicle in D range, at 60 km/h {37 mph} or more for 100 s or more.

iv.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

v.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

vi.  Repeat from step i to step iii again.

vii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0712, P0713

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in D range, at 20 km/h {12 mph} or more for 100 s or more.

iii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0715

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under following condition for 0.8 s or more.

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 41 km/h {25 mph} or more

iii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0731

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 4 times or more.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 150—4,987 rpm

―  Selector lever position: D range, 1GR

―  Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 3.13% or more

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 6—59 km/h {4—36 mph}

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0732

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions 4 times or more.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 150—4,987 rpm

―  Selector lever position: D range, 2GR

―  Accelerator opening angle (APP PID): 3.13% or more

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 9—106 km/h {6—65 mph}

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0733

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 150—4,987 rpm

―  Selector lever position: D range, 3GR

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 28—54 km/h {18—33 mph}

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0734

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 150—4,987 rpm

―  Selector lever position: D range, 4GR

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 65—104 km/h {41—64 mph}

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0741

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle under the following conditions.

―  Turbine speed (TSS PID): 150—4,987 rpm

―  Selector lever position: D range, 4GR

―  Torque converter clutch (TCC) operating

―  Vehicle speed (VSS PID): 65—104 km/h {41—64 mph}

iii.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

iv.  Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

v.  Repeat from step i to step ii again.

vi.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0743

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly from 1GR to 4GR and TCC is operated. (See ROAD TEST[GF4AX-EL].)

iii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0745

i.  Start the engine.

ii.  Drive the vehicle in D range.

iii.  Go to Step 5.

•  For P0753, P0758, P0763, P0768, P1783

i.  Drive the vehicle in D range and make sure that the gears shift smoothly 1GR to 4GR. (See ROAD TEST[GF4AX-EL].)

ii.  Go to Step 5.

7.  Gradually slow down and stop the vehicle.

8.  Make sure that the repaired DTC does not recur.
