Shift control

•  Detects engine load conditions and vehicle speed; shifts to optimum gear speed according to predetermined automatic shift diagram

•  Switches automatically into dedicated slope mode according to road gradient

•  Selects O/D off function according to operation of O/D OFF switch

Line pressure control

•  Adjusts line pressure to match engine load and driving conditions using pressure control solenoid (duty cycle type)

•  Automatically switches to optimal line pressure for each gear when shifting occurs

•  Automatically switches to optimal line pressure when fluid temperature is low to speed up clutch and brake operation

3-2 timing control

•  Temporarily switches 2-4 brake band engagement/release pressure and 3-4 clutch line pressure hydraulic circuits when shifting gears by on/off operation of 3-2 timing solenoid

Shift solenoid on/off timing control

•  Switches 2-4 brake band engagement/release pressure, and 3-4 clutch and coasting clutch line pressure hydraulic circuits when shifting gears by on/off operation of shift solenoid A, B and C

Torque reduction control

•  Temporarily reduces engine torque during gear shifting to improve shifting quality

TCC control

•  Controls TCC according to predetermined TCC points

Diagnostic system

•  Main components of ATX control system have self-diagnosis function; if malfunction occurs, O/D OFF indicator light flashes to warn driver and DTC is stored in PCM

•  When malfunction is determined as result of on-board diagnostic, driveability is preserved as much as possible by fail-safe function
