TRANSAXLE RANGE (TR) SWITCH REMOVAL[LA4AX-EL (CD4E)]

1.  Shift the selector lever to the N position.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3.  Remove the battery and battery tray. (See BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

4.  Disconnect the crankcase vent hose and MAF sensor connector.

5.  Remove the air hose and air cleaner cover.

6.  Remove the thermostat housing. (See THERMOSTAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION[AJ (3.0L Duratec)].)

Note

•  The thermostat housing must be removed to access the TR switch.

7.  Disconnect the TR switch connector.

8.  Remove the bolts.

9.  Remove the TR switch.
