DIFFERENTIAL FLUID SEAL INSTALLATION[LA4AX-EL (CD4E)]

RH

1.  Install the differential fluid seal (RH) using the SST.

2.  Install the transfer. (See TRANSFER CASE REMOVAL[LA4AX-EL (CD4E)].)

3.  Install the front drive shaft (RH). (See FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Clean the drain plug threads and apply a light coat of silicone sealant.

5.  Install the transaxle drain plug.

6.  Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle.

7.  Add Mercon^® ATF.

8.  Start the engine and shift the selector lever and pause momentarily in each shift position while depressing the brake pedal. Add ATF if necessary.

9.  Allow the ATF to reach operating temperature and add if necessary.

LH

1.  Install the differential fluid seal (LH) using the SST.
