Airflow mode actuator (motor lock) |

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Airflow mode actuator malfunction
• Heater unit (Airflow mode link and/or airflow mode cranks) malfunction
• Climate control unit malfunction
• Open or short circuit between airflow mode actuator and climate control unit
|

• Disconnect airflow mode actuator connector.
• Connect battery positive voltage to terminal A (or terminal F) and ground to terminal F (or terminal A) of airflow mode actuator connector.
• Does airflow mode actuator operate?

Yes
|
Connect airflow mode actuator connector, then go to Step 3.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
• Remove airflow mode actuator.
• Operate airflow mode main link by hand.
• Does airflow mode main link operate smoothly?
|
Yes
|
Replace airflow mode actuator. (See AIRFLOW MODE ACTUATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

No
|
Replace airflow mode links and/or airflow mode cranks.
|

|
• Disconnect climate control unit connector.
• Connect battery positive voltage to terminal I (or terminal J) and ground to terminal J (or terminal I) of climate control unit connector.
• Does airflow mode actuator operate?
|
Yes
|
Replace climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
|
No
|
Repair wiring harness.
